This tour will take you to all of the interesting, historical sites within the medieval city wall that are integral components of Rothenburg’s rich history.
Some of the sites we’ll explore are the Castle Gate and Castle Garden with its view of the Tauber Valley, Plönlein (Little Square) and Siebers Tower, the impressive Spital Bastion, and the Handworker’s House from 1217.
After the tour, you’ll have time to visit the Criminal Museum, take a walk along the top of the medieval city wall, or just shop and explore all of the alluring side streets and alleyways within this well-preserved medieval town.
Everyone enjoys my Rothenburg Day Trips from Nuremberg because approx. 1-hour drive from Nuremberg, seemingly untouched by the passage of time, lies Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Rothenburg is known for its medieval town center and its mostly undamaged 14th-century town wall.
In the Middle Ages, Rothenburg was a free imperial city, reaching its apex of prosperity under Mayor Heinrich Toppler in the 15th century.
